The Technical Manager (TM) is responsible for managing all of the technical aspects associated with one or more R&D projects. Duties may include some technical tasks as well as all responsibilities related to managing the technical deliverables of the project. These may include (but are not limited to): technical project schedule, EWO budget, project resources, interfacing with Commercialization Managers and Product Line Managers, etc.
Develop and maintain the technical project schedule (ensure coordination of all technical areas, including mechanical, electrical, software, media, QA, manufacturing)
Identify and mitigate project dependencies, technical risks and issues; develop contingency plans
Specifications development and data gathering
Facilitate both project design and testing responsibilities
Lead/manage the technical team
Participate on the project core team as the lead technical representative
Develop and maintain EWO budget for program
Manage internal client relationships
Ensure compliance with development policies, the commercialization process and required standard operating procedures
Master Degree or equivalent experience with electronics\mechanical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of general project management experience
Knowledge with project planning procedures, processes, and overall project life cycle with an emphasis on project management skills
Proven track record in risk management and escalation procedures
Knowledge in medical regulations and standards
Strong communication (written & verbal), organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation, facilitation, and follow through skills
Ability to interact with all levels of personnel within an organization, as well as functional groups regardless of geographic location
Demonstrated use of project management tools, including MS Project, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Document Manager, etc.
